The flame shown above represents the eternal flame at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, which is near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The eternal flame was first lit on Remembrance Day in 1923 by Andre Maginot, then war minister of France. It is relit every day at 6.30pm by a French Veterans Association.
